This addon allows your users to create content and submit posts from the frontend of your WordPress website.
You can create unlimited forms where your users can post different contents.
Setting Up a Form
To set up a form using the Frontend Posting Addon go to your dashboard:
- Navigate to Users > Post Forms
- Click ‘Add New’
- For frontend posting choose ‘Post Form’ and click the ‘Add Form’ button.
- In the ‘Post Fields’ menu you can select which fields you want your users to have.
- You can add more fields from the ‘Fields’ section at the right side of the page.
- You can also change the settings of each fields by clicking the edit icon or the ‘Settings’ section at the right side of the page.
- You can edit the field’s ‘Label’, add a ‘Description’ and ‘Placeholder’, and you can also set the field as a required field.
- Click ‘Save Changes’ to save your settings.
Post Settings
You can decide how your user frontend post will appear on your site in the Post Settings.
- Click the ‘Settings’ menu to open the settings for your frontend post form.
- You can choose the settings you want for your users to include the post’s type, status, format, category, and other form setting options.
- Click ‘Save Changes’ to save your settings.
Submission Settings
You can decide how your users can submit their posts in your site with the Submission settings.
- Click the ‘Submission’ menu at the upper right side of the page.
- Turn-on the ‘Enable Guest Posts’ option to allow your guests to submit posts using your frontend form.
- You can also ‘Require Gest Details’ when they are posting.
Redirect Settings
On the redirect settings, you can decide what page will appear on the user’s screen after creating a frontend post on your site.
- Click the drop-down menu in the ‘Redirect After Submission’ option.
- You can choose either to redirect your users to their ‘Created Post’, to a ‘Form Page’, a ‘Page’, or a ‘Custom URL’ that you create for your users.
- If you select to redirect your users to their ‘Created Post’, the users will be redirected to the page where their contents are posted.
- If you choose to redirect your users to a ‘Form Page’, you will have to place a message that will appear on your users’ screen after submitting their posts.
- If you choose to redirect your users to a ‘Page’ on your site after submitting their posts, you have to choose from existing pages on your site where you want your users to be redirected.
- If you choose to redirect your users to a ‘Custom URL’, you need to provide the URL where you want your users to be redirected after submitting their posts.
- Click ‘Save Changes’ to save your settings.
- On the ‘Form’ menu you will be asked to provide the ‘Form Name’ for your frontend form.
- Click ‘Save Changes’ to save your settings.
Creating a Frontend Posting Page
You need to create a page where your users’ frontend posting will be placed. But first you need to copy the shortcode of the frontend form that you created. To do that go to your dashboard:
- Navigate to Users > Post Forms.
- Copy the Shortcode of the frontend form that you created.
- Navigate to ‘Pages’ then click ‘Add New’.
- Add a Title on your page and paste the ‘Shortcode’ of your frontend form at the block below the Title.
- Set the ‘Visibility’ option to ‘Public’.
- You can also edit how your page will appear on your website.
- Once you’re done with your settings, click the ‘Publish’ button to publish your page on your site.
- You can make your page appear together with the menu on your website. Just go to your dashboard, navigate to Appearance > Menu.
- Select the page you created for your frontend posting, click ‘Add to Menu’ and the page will be added to the Menu on your website.
- Click the ‘Save’ menu to sage your settings.
Frontend Posting Preview
After setting up the form and creating the page for frontend postings, your users can now create and submit their content on your website.
- To preview your frontend posting page and form go to your site and click the page you created for frontend posting.
- The ‘Frontend Posting Form’ that you created will appear on the page and your users can now create and submit their posts.
