WP User Manager Acquired By Pole Vault Web

Iain Published on September 17, 2019

With the transfer officially complete as of 2nd September 2019, I’m pleased to announce that WP User Manager is under new ownership. 🎉

WP User Manager was started in 2015 by Alessandro Tesoro, to provide a simple and easy to use solution for WordPress sites, to allow users to register and login from the frontend, customize their profiles, and give site owners the power to build a community.

Since then, WP User Manager has grown and now has over 9,000 active installs of the free core plugin on wordpress.org!

Alessandro’s focus has recently shifted to his new plugin – Posterno, a listings & classifieds directory WordPress plugin. So when he decided to sell WP User Manager to give him the time and money to invest into Posterno, I was excited by the opportunity to take on an existing, popular plugin and build on its success. I wish Alessandro the best of luck with the future.

Who Am I?

So who am I? I’m Iain Poulson and I run Pole Vault Web. I’ve been a WordPress developer since 2011 when I released my first plugin, which turned into a premium plugin business – Intagrate, a powerful WordPress plugin to create posts from your Instagram media.

Since then I’ve gone on to work with some great WordPress product teams including Delicious Brains (creators of WP Migrate DB Pro) and Saturday Drive (makers of Ninja Forms). I also write about WordPress development in various places, run the WordPress deal site WP App Store, and co-host Pressing Matters, a WordPress podcast.

I think it’s fair to say I know WordPress plugins and am committed to the community. You can read more about me here.

What Does This Means for Users?

For current and future users of the plugin and customers of the premium addons, this acquisition is a positive step forward. Support for the plugins will continue at the excellent level Alessandro had been giving. Development of bug fixes, new features, improvements, and new addons are on the horizon.
